NSW government chooses NZ radio technology

New South Wales emergency services now have the option of using Kiwi technology with a Christchurch company becoming the first alternative P25 solutions provider officially approved to operate on the Government Radio Network (GRN). It’s the first time an alternative provider has been given the green light by the state-wide network, and Tait Radio Communications – a multinational radio communications company with headquarters in Christchurch – said it meant state agencies were no longer locked in by a single vendor.

Power to the people: Investit’s plan to shake up the deposits market

Putting consumers back in control is the driving force behind a new investment auction website that enables people to find, compare and invest in different term deposits from banks and non-bank institutions. Investit chief operating officer Ben Milsom said investit.co.nz would to transform the deposit market by making it quicker and simpler to shop around for the best deal. He said the launch of the site was set against a trend of growing consumer empowerment, thanks to technology that made “normally cumbersome and time-consuming processes much faster.”

Eventfinder to show Aussies how to do events right

Having established a firm foothold locally, Eventfinder is taking its event marketing platform to the Australian market – and if its initial reception is anything to go by, promoters and organisers across the ditch are lapping it up. Chief executive Michael Turner said the launch of eventfinder.com.au had so far blown expectations out of the water despite not having launched any marketing or advertising efforts.
