Get the basics right, invest in development, and never compromise on quality. That
was the take-home message at the Thrive International conference on
Friday, with John Buchanan from the International Chamber of Commerce
urging companies to invest in innovation in order to grow revenue –
something he said New Zealand had a good track record in.

Expect to see more black planes gracing the skies – Air New Zealand has
re-signed as a major sponsor of the New
Zealand Rugby Union until 2015. The move
extends the relationship between Air New Zealand and the New
Zealand Rugby Union to 20 years and maintains the
airline’s status as official sponsor of the All Blacks.

Telecom, Vodafone and 2degrees have reached an agreement to let customers to
purchase apps and digital content on their cell phone and have it charged to
their phone bill. The telcos are members of the
Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum (TCF) Working Party, which has
developed the Payforit Trusted Mobile Payments Framework to enable users to to make low-cost
purchases using their mobile phones.
