Success Story Award for his work in developing trade relations between New Zealand
and Hong Kong. Boote has spent the past seven years developing his consultancy
services and establishing Hong Kong as a base in developing trade
relations with Asia, and assisted several Australasian
businesses in setting up there. He reckons there’s no better place from which to establish trade relations with China.

Foreclosures don’t just spell bargains for homebuyers – there are deals to be had in the commercial sector, too. Kiwi cleantech company LanzaTech has acquired a US biofuel plant as part
of a government-approved liquidation. Range Fuels Inc, a
cellulosic ethanol business that was offered $156 million in federal
government backing, sold its only factory to LanzaTech in a deal that
did not include its intellectual property, according to a Bloomberg report.

$1.69 billion (according to Forsyth Barr), Genesis Energy at $1.76
