Icebreaker, the New Zealand company behind the
merino wool movement, has revealed plans to open its second store in
New York City. The
store, due to open its doors on January 23 in the western
Meatpacking district, will feature Icebreakers’s complete outdoor and
city collections, which founder Jeremy Moon believes will resonate with Manhattanites.

company to match. Bayer New Zealand acquired the Bomar group in 2011 and the last 12 months has seen the organisations getting busy integrating. The result: a giant in animal healthcare, the Bayer New Zealand Animal Health division, official as of this month.

Malaysian-based ISP MyKris Limited has hit the NZAX, becoming the first stock exchange listing of 2012. MyKris shares debuted at 25 cents each, with a total of 59,920,100 issued. It was sponsored by IRG, which provided investment banking services in exchange for shares. IRG
managing director Brent King said it hoped to bring even more companies to the New Zealand market in future.

A new technique tipped to prevent the release of sediment and phosphorous will soon be tested in Lake Rotoehu. The
de-stratification project will take water from the deepest part of the
lake and pump it to the surface to eliminate pockets of low oxygen
water. which contributes to the release of phosphorous and nitrogen –
key nutrients which lead to poor water quality and algal blooms. The
Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Strategy Group approved the aeration project and
if successful on Rotoehu, it could be used on larger lakes such as Rotorua.
