With government and corporates alike onside, nonprofit Kiwipedia is out to make learning about New Zealand’s animals more fun. Ryan
Ghisi has spent the last year developing the NZ Fauna app,
with the assistance of DOC, Forest and Bird and Te Ara (the Ministry of
Culture and Heritage), which granted access to their text and media

irrigation while improving water quality and summer flows in the Tukituki
River and others.

The official cash rate is staying at 2.5 percent,
with Reserve Bank Governor Alan Bollard citing a fragile global

yesterday. Bollard said international financial
markets were still threatening to push up local bank funding
costs, and New Zealand’s economic recovery could be

Sick of your old mobile or iPod but too environmentally conscious to throw it out or too cash-poor to replace it? It’s a first world problem gaining urgency here but in the US, an ATM is revolutionising the way people recycle their unwanted consumer electronics. People looking to ditch a phone or music player need only place an unwanted device into an ecoATM, which then values and recycles the item, offering a cash payment or donation to a charity of choice in return.
