Vend’s road to world domination got a boost yesterday with the announcement of a partnership with Paypal in the US. The trial means customers can check into a shop and make purchases using the Paypal app. And Vend has also successfully completed another investment round, led once again by Germany’s Point Nine Capital.

The government giveth, and the government taketh. Two Ministry of Economic Development funds have been cancelled in the
latest budget with both the Enterprising Partnerships Fund and the
Transformational Initiatives Fund disestablished. Science,
innovation, and research is getting a boost, though, with new funding to create the Advanced
Technology Institute, fund National Science

In Wellington, Bill English screwed the fiscal wallet to the
floor, promising to be in the black by 2015, the first country in the
developed world (outside Australia) to achieve a post-crash surplus. In Auckland, Mayor Len Brown passed his $58 billion 10-year spend-a-thon. Could

DraftFCB’s golden run continues: following up from the last two years’ efforts, it can now boast a trio of Best in Show titles thanks to its work on the Electricity

entries were whittled down by 102 local media representatives and Mark
Jenner, 2012 Media Awards convenor of judges and head of digital at
Telecom, said What’s My Number? earned the top title and an additional
clutch of four gold awards as a result of its outstanding media integration.

Modern packaging often leaves something to be
desired. Much like that last inch of toothpaste in the tube, squeezy
condiment bottles insist on retaining sweet, sweet globs of sauce in a
sticky layer that just won’t budge. But a group of MIT engineers think they’ve solved this particular first world problem with LiquiGlide.
