If you’re looking for ways to add a little creative flare and knowledge to you skill set, you might like to head along to some of the workshops being held by CoLab, which will cover everything from robotics to online tools and marketplaces for creative entrepreneurs.
Colab, the interdisciplinary creative technology centre that fosters and promote creative practices, research and development, knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration.
Making things move
with Kim Newall
Have you ever wanted your creations to move? This workshop will introduce you the basics of using motors with the Arduino platform. The workshop will take a creative approach on how to use of DC motors and Servo motors with the Arduino platform. Participants will acquire basic knowledge on how they can give their creations life with movement.
When:Saturday September 25, 9.30am- 4.30pm
Cost: $100, Students $85 (with ID)*cost
includes motors
** Participants must have some arduino knowledge and must bring their own

Making music, artwork or writing a book? Come along to the popular Creative Online Toolkit developed in association with the People In Your Neighbourhood project from the British Council.

Social Media Masterclass
Want to make a name for yourself? The join us for a Social Media Masterclass and learn how to manage your brand online.

These workshops will be run by Helen Baxter, MD of Mohawk Media, international keynote speaker, and XMediaLab mentor. She reports on technology for the g33k show, is a judge in the NZ Yahoo!Xtra Digital Strategy Awards, and has been strategist and creative columnist with the MsBehaviour Files for the Big Idea.
