Foamy and icy retail funk
By Design Daily Team,
This new retail space doest require any cooling devices to retain its icy and all-round cool appearance. The Richard Chai store is a temporary installation courtesy of Snarkitecture—a collaborative practice between an artist and an architect—in conjunction with designer Richard Chai, as part of the Building Fashion series.
The sculpted glacial cavern was crafted using white architectural foam, which was cut by hand to produce an eroded landscape appearance.
“The range of shelves, niches, hang bars and other moments embedded within the form encourage the designer’s curatorial eye for display,” says the Snarkitecture website.
