WIN an awesome interactive artwork for some offbeat Photoshop action
By Design Daily Team,
A bit of tinkering can lead to some pretty awesome creations, as the Magma series of interactive artworks by designer and artist Turi Park illustrate (read the story HERE).
Comprised of a powdercoated steel canvas and magnetic coloured shapes, the artwork range encourages would-be artists to tap into their own creativity by moving the shapes into any configuration they choose, stripping art back to its most basic ingredients; colour, shape, texture and the innate creative thrill at the core of being human.
And now, thanks to the generous Magma crew, we’re giving you the chance to win a Magma for yourself, valued at $490—how cool a prize is that?!

How to win
It’s easy—just share with us the best Photoshopped picture you’ve seen (post a comment about why you like it, along with a link to the pic). Oh, and don’t forget to tell us which Magma you’d like to win (select your Magma by clicking HERE).
To start you off, here’s a few goodies below.

Ohhhh, that Magma artwork is a thing of beauty!
So hard to choose just one image… but in the same vein as your stunning orange peel tree-frog.. I nominate the Kiwi fruit mouse:

It's a great combination of animal and fruit, which works so well because of the similar appearances of their fuzzy skins… it's almost believable.
The contrast of the fur with the colourful and wet fruit is visually pleasing.
The image walks a very satisfying line between disturbing yet entertaining.
Oh that I were that talented!

Simple, elegant and conveys a powerful message without a single word.
I'd like to win the Magma Pop Art Club.

Found this link on morgue file. Take your pick, they're all pretty good. I liked the horse/hair one the best myself.
I'd go for the Magma Pop Art Club one also.

If I had hair, the idea that wild horses couldn't drag me from my cup of coffee might appeal…cash for ash, clever…I'll always pause (paws?) before eating the skin with my kiwifruit…pandas? Hmmm…if I win I'd love the orange frog because it's so striking - quite potent - but the man shopping for heads (multiple/alternative identities) is particularly interesting in these times…impressive.

The Dew Frog and the massive Water Droplet are awesome. Very talented people to be able to make it looks so realistic especially when dealing with water / transparent objects.

Oh, OK, I'm sorry… it's Friday afternoon and these are just way too much fun not to share:

It's also a good excuse to tell you I'd like to win the Magma Pop Art Club - which I somehow forgot to mention.

I love this photo - http://phatpuppy.deviantart.com/art/Arise-My-Beloved-162271626?q=sort%3Atime+favby%3Alilfairie&qo=39
Because the artist really thought of carefully about how to change a photo into a painting. The lighting and texture is spot on. If I wasn’t told this was a photo I wouldn’t have known.

They are all very clever and unique in their own way. I like the castle on the rock which looks deceptively simple, but I'm sure involved more work than one might imagine.

Without a doubt the most disturbing/brilliant work of retouching/creation I've seen in a very long time. The amount of work gone into it it mind-blowing.

Very nice technique. Taking the traditional fine art skills and applying them in a different medium.

I like these ones:

Mildly disturbing for an arachnophobe like me!
http://images.bbgsite.com/forum/upload/2010/04/09/4258fcf57093aff8a7c1a65061fb2dc6.jpg
I can't decide if this is cute, or just plain wrong on about three different levels. Still, it's a fascinating image and well-executed.

Humorous, and a little bit sexy. :)
