Wakin’ to the bacon
By Design Daily Team,
If you don’t like being jolted from your sleep by a regular annoying alarm clock, perhaps being awoken by the wafting smell of sizzling bacon might appeal more to your taste.
The creation of Matty Sallin, Daniel Bartolini and Hsiao-huh Hsu, the ‘Wake n’ Bacon’ literally cooks your bacon, thanks to some clever rewriting of the traditional alarm clock. All you have to do is place a strip of frozen bacon onto the ‘Wake n’ Bacon’ tray the night before.
Instead sending signals to small speakers to generate the alarm sound, the signal has been re-routed by a microchip, which sends a signal to turn two halogen lamps on, which over the course of 10 minutes slowly cook the bacon.
