Mind your language
By Deirdre Robert,
One language dies every 14 days. Is the world's focus on English preventing the spread of great ideas in other languages? That’s the question posed by longtime English teacher Patricia Ryan in this TED presentation.

Oh god…I cannot believe you publsihed such rubbish. The suggestion that a particular language is going to be the driver of an idea is fanciful and utterly absurd. Most ideas are driven by observation, inspiration and need for a change or betterment of an existing idea or process. But it's just soooo fashionable to knock English. Next it will be an article about whites or some or supposed elite preventing ideas from emerging.

I think you missed the point, Ivan. It's about diversity as a driver of ideas — not language.
