PechaKucha is on the hunt for your clever and inspiring ideas
By Design Daily Team,
PechaKucha presentations
in Enzed are always inspiring, but the upcoming Global
PechaKucha Day has an even more unique role for us with PechaKucha
Night Christchurch being
designated as the launch city for the global event. Called ‘Inspire
Christchurch’ the event will kick-start the global event themed around ‘Inspire
Japan’.
On 16 April, many of the 400 PechaKucha cities around the world will come together and hold events, broadcasting out to the world over multiple Ustreams. For it’s part, Christchurch will kick-start the global event via Ustream at the CPSA Building at CPIT.
The 20x20 presentations will be focused on the three main themes of inspiration, issues and recovery, and will include presentations from a colourful selection of creative fields including architecture, art and design.
As the birthplace of PechaKucha Nights (PechaKucha is a Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat"), Japan has inspired designers for many generations. Now organisers are asking people to come together to show Christchurch and Japan that the creative world is thinking of them, that all is not lost, and that it is possible to stand up and rebuild, even in the suburbs and towns which have been completely destroyed.
“With creativity and passion, anything is possible,” say the organisers.
And organisers are looking for the keen among you to join in—either as an audience member or by taking the centre stage as a presenter.
