Win! Double passes to LATE at the Museum! Plus free exclamation marks!
By Idealog,
Next week is the last LATE at the Museum event for 2011, to be held at Auckland Museum.
Don’t have a ticket? Do not fear – we have 10 double passes worth $40 each, courtesy of the wicked folk at the museum, to give away to discerning readers.
The event features a panel, moderated by Media7 host Russell Brown, to discuss “Life on the Margins: Otherness in NZ” – are we a society that hankers for conformity? What happens to the outliers? Is New Zealand is ripe for the youth riots that ripped through Britain, or do we not have enough Blackberries to coordinate it all? Is it OK to be different or will the other kids steal your lunch?
The panel will feature ‘gay, disabled, vegetarian comedian’ Philip Patston; journalist and author David Cohen, whose kick-arse book Little Criminals chronicles life inside Te Puni Boys’ Home; domestic violence victims’ advocate Stacey Kerapa Huata; and smart and sassy Labour MP Jacinda Ardern.
There’ll also be a special live performance with Buckwheat and Tess Tickle, and DJ producer Christoph El Truento featuring Miso, B.Haru, Isaac Aesili and Lui T in an improvised jam session with laptops, drum machines, turntables, synthesizers as well as live horns and percussion for a journey through experimental hip hop music, tones and textures.
How could you possibly say no to all this fun?

We’ll contact you via email if you’re one of the lucky punters.
Open to New Zealand residents only (you probably need to be in Auckland, let’s face it), closes Thursday 29 September at 5pm.

Id really love to be to go to this, it sounds interesting and like it would be a lot of fun. Of course if that Stud muffin Kenny Rogers was going too, that would put the cherry on top. :)
