The trail to zip-up-shoes

Seasoned travellers know that every square centimetre of space in their packs is precious. There's no room for bulk and no room for extras in their luggage – and shoes are the worst offenders.

But for those who want to bring along an extra pair of sturdy footwear , these new puppies by Timberland might just do the trick.

What makes the water-repellent, fleece-lined Radler Trail Camp shoes unique is that when they’re not being worn, they can be folded in half and zipped up along the sole (made up of 42 percent recycled materials). And they weigh next to nothing - just 255 grams, in fact.

No need to carry them, either – the Radlers come with a carabiner to clip onto rucksacks.

Seriuosly cool concept. What are they like to wear all day? How terrain-proof is the zip? Would love to try a pair.

Very Cool - any retailers in NZ carry these?

You could try Shoes Depot http://www.shoesdepot.co.nz/buyshoesonlinenz-360711011-B004P1A5YG-Timberland_Mens_Radler_Trail_Ca…
