Portuguese house rocks the Flintstones vibe
By Design Daily Team,
A house between four large
boulders, tucked away in the mountains of Portugal, is proving a major tourist drawcard.
A Casa do Penedo, or "the House of Stone," looks like a structure straight out of the Flintstones. It blends seamlessly into its surroundings, but it's by no means primitive; a swimming pool has been carved out of one of the rocks.
Built in the 1970s as one family's rural retreat, the house is now attracting tourists and architecture buffs. It's garnered so much attention, its owner has had to move away for some peace and quiet ... and add a steel door and bulletproof glass.
