By Esther Goh,
The GE ecomagination challenge is well underway and a suite of green-tinged ideas are flowing in from New Zealand and Australia.
Among them are our own Aquaflow, a cleantech company working on technology for converting algae into energy; LimitlessLED, smartphone-controlled smart light bulbs and meters; and Greenstage's solar cooperative-in-a-box, a collective for solar PV (to feature in the next issue of Idealog).
In case your memory needs a little jog, the competition is out to find sustainable solutions for reducing our collective carbon footprint. A bunch of venture capital firms are banding together to help back the most promising ideas.
Nearly 200 ideas have been submitted so far, ranging from a human electric powered bike (yes, really) to a mobile chicken coop called the Chickelator. Click here to look through them, vote for your favourites or even enter your own.
