Game Arcade pops up at creative lab

Games created during last weekend’s Media Design School Global Game Jam will be on show in the Semi-Permanent Research Lab in February and March.

The lab was opened last November as an extension of Chorus’ ‘What will you be with UFB?’ campaign and aims to showcase everything from street art to digital media and design.

Five game jam teams were chosen for the arcade, including Air Tennis, Pigvane and Second Person Saga.

The contest challenges teams to make a game in one weekend. This year the theme was, ‘We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are’.

The selected games will be developed and launched in custom arcade machines for the public to try free at Semi-Arcade from 20 February until March.

Ivan Khmel, Tece Bayrak and James Manning’s game Air Tennis.
