?Christchurch’s Rad Bikes has moved to a new site on the corner of Cashel St and High St.
It’s a community bike shed, a space where anyone can build or repair their own bicycle using the tools provided (in exchange for a koha) or help restore bikes that will be loaned or gifted to locals. It’s open a few times a week, manned by a duty volunteer.
The shed itself is a portable structure designed by architects Nic and Jess Sewell and was built by volunteers in September and October. The hope is it will continue to operate after a six-month trial run.
