Wipster flying high after SXSW launch

wipster launch sxswCloud video collaboration platform Wipster has officially gone global, launching at SXSW.

“It’s been a busy time. In just over a year we now have a product that’s being used in more than 65 countries around the world and being subscribed to by big internationals – it’s great”, says chief executive Rollo Wenlock.

While some say it’s pointless to try to stand out amongst the noise at SXSW (including Flickr founder Caterina Fake, who launched her new venture the day before), Wenlock says it was perfect for Wipster.

“SXSW is amazing, it’s the place to discover and test the latest ideas from the interactive industries. You see things that once would have been set in 21st century futuristic films. I loved it, and it couldn’t have been a better launching pad for Wipster.”

Wipster, which allows multiple users to literally write their feedback onto a screen frame by frame, has raised more than $600,000 from investors including the ICE Angels, AngelsHQ, tech investor Ben Kepes and Xero chairman Sam Knowles.

Wenlock is now in San Francisco shooting more in a series about the future of video with thought leaders from Adobe, Vimeo and more, and has been invited to be filmed as part of a Microsoft Bizspark series.
