Paper Plane takes off in Tauranga

Mt Maunganui designer Timothy John (who we interviewed last year) has been a busy bee. Along with his interior designer wife, Krista Plews, he’s launched a new line of furniture for Paper Plane, their inhouse brand which has both a physical and online store.

Most Paper Plane pieces are customisable in some way, and all products are made locally in Tauranga for residential or commercial use. One of the key drivers behind opening Paper Plane, he says, was to expand his eponymous range while keeping it affordable and local.

Adds Plews: “Beyond the development of our own range, we are focussed on curating quality products with a clear function and a point of difference at an accessible price point. As we grow, we are excited to collaborate with other creatives across a number of lifestyle oriented fields.”
