Football nerds rejoice: a poster for true fans

Scenario has made a World Cup poster that has deep, deep meaning, in an obsessive way that true football fans will appreciate.

It created 64 individually numbered limited edition posters, which equals one for each game of the 2014 World Cup. It was printed by Pivotal + Thames in Brazilian yellow and green (Pantone Yellow and 354). The font used is Mexellent, inspired by the famous Lance Wyman Mexico 1970 World Cup logo. The ball is a nod to possibly Brazil’s greatest World Cup triumph, their 4-1 win against Italy, again in 1970.

The poster itself is laid out in a traditional 4-4-2 formation,  and each poster includes all the results, a few key stats from the tournament and each of the 32 national flags in order of their Word Cup ranking. It’s wrapped in a design based on the 1970 World Cup ticket with the hexagonal pattern taken from this year’s goal net design and sealed with the 1970 ball. Its commemorative tube reflects Brazil’s team colours – with the tubes and ends sourced from different ends of the world – “making this a truly World Cup winning piece of design”.
