New head for Hikurangi Foundation
By Sustain Team,
The Hikurangi Foundation has a new leader at its helm, with Alex Hannant returning to New Zealand to take over the role of executive director.
The foundation is involved in funding and supporting climate change entrepreneurs and community-led climate change projects, including the Matakana flexi-bus, the national cycleway programme, and the Little Greenie project, where potential homeowners can stay in a prototype of a energy-efficient home.
"New Zealand has an impressive track record in ingenuity and innovation," Hannant said.
"Hikurangi is here to build and support that culture, and accelerate the development of the ideas and talent that will benefit us all.”
Hannant takes over from founding executive director Liana Stupples, who had been involved in the programme since it began in Wellington in 2008.
