Who is NZ’s most attractive employer?
It's one of our most iconic brands, and now more than 7,000 Kiwis have voted Air New Zealand the country's best employer for the second year running, rating highly in management, working environment, salary and benefits, training and interesting job content.
Accolades also go to Randstad Award runner-up TVNZ, moving up a place after being named third in 2011, followed by the New Zealand Customs Service, also taking out the most attractive public sector award.
In the education sector, the University of Auckland won the title for the most attractive employer.
The awards were originally launched in Belgium in 2000 and are now in 14 countries, although last year was the first time a New Zealand version was held.
Winners are decided via feedback from the general public and organisations cannot nominate themselves or determine categories or criteria for entry.
Overall, long-term job security and financially healthy organisations rank as the most important factors when seeking an employer, followed by competitive salary and employee benefits, and a pleasant working atmosphere.
Amongst the older workforce, interesting job content and workplace diversity are of greater concern, and younger respondents are seeking global career prospects and training.
